“The Audition” pieces together re-filmed fragments from the audition scene in Jean-Luc Godard’s “Contempt” – a quintessential Nouvelle Vague film about film – into a monochromatic dreamscape of movement and re-recorded Stockhausen audio crescendo. The players are stuck in their bit part audition tirelessly waiting for rejection or inclusion.
